Happy Friday! What makes Friday even better? New Michael Miller fabric! We know you love Michael Miller as much as we do - they just know how to crank out the fun prints, so what's not to like? We just got a huge box from them (always a fun moment!) and it was full of all kinds of funky things. Let's take a look!
First, we have a few lovely fabrics from the Spa Floral collection.
The main floral print is super groovy, amiright? The mod flowers get an updated look in these bright colors with touches of neutral shades like dark red and tan. We also really love the scallop stripe! Stripes (and dots) are among our favorite patterns over at QS HQ, and when you jazz it up with a scallop and make it in these luscious colors, well, it doesn't get much better than that. And this pretty coral and white ikat print is a great coordinate for either and will add an exotic touch to your projects! Try these sunny fabrics in a colorful quilt or cute make-up bag.
Next, we have another pretty nature-inspired line, but with a different look - Botanica by Paula Prass!
First, I must comment on this amazing chevron! It's like a regular stripe on acid or something. I love the combination of super-bright colors mixed with lighter shades and thin black lines to separate them. The blues and greens are gorgeous, and the coral is also a nice touch! This chevron looks especially nice with the large-scale print of botanical illustrations. This fabric is really large-scale so if you get some, make sure to get a lot! I think it would make a rockin' tote bag or gorgeous throw pillows for your couch. (Why not use the chevron as the bag lining or pillow back?) The former graphic designer in me loves the stylish typographical elements in this fabric, and the colors are divine!
For more exotic flair (and birds!) here are some selections from Peacock Lane!
This charcoal gray print looks like a peaceful Persian park, with it's exotic trees, park benches, and graceful peacocks. The cross-hatching in the background adds interest too. Next up is a sweet coordinate with more little birds and flowers, in a lighter, more pastel version. Finally, here's a snippet from Menagerie, which has a variety of animals in ornate frames on an adorable pin-dot background. Here's a bigger sample of it.
I love that elephant! The color scheme on this cute fabric is so nice and vibrant too - bright yellow, teal, lime, white and warm gray. So cute for kids' quilts!
Finally, we've got a few fun miscellaneous prints that stand alone!
If you're in need of a good fabric for a boy, look no further than Galaxy Visa, this awesome alien print! The colors are boyish but still pretty together and who doesn't love a big-headed alien? Next, we have Forest Life, but it's jazzed up in these kooky pinks and aquas! These little creatures are so cute, you're going to love them. Continuing the adorable animal theme, I just about fell off my chair when I saw Snail Trails Stripe. (More stripes!) It just seems straight out of the 70's, doesn't it? Plus, the snails have eyelashes! And there are mushrooms! I just can't stop looking at it. Moving on! Finally, we have one of our favorites: Disco Dot! If you haven't seen Disco Dot in person, don't be fooled - these are some big-ass dots, if I may. They're about 2" across! And this chic charcoal and white combination is just awesome.
Now, are you inspired to sew something great? I hope so! Michael Miller fabrics are so fun, we love to use them. Use your imagination and make something fun!
Becca
